Independence Eye Associates Welcomes

Dr. David Jennings, O.D.

We are excited to announce the addition of an optometrist to our practice

Dr. Jennings transitioned from his private practice to join 
Independence Eye Associates in the Summer of 2016

Dr. Jennings is a member of the American Optometric Association
and has been providing eye care for over 10 years.


Who's Who:

Ophthalmologista physician (medical doctor) who specializes in  branch of medical science dealing with the structure, functions, and diseases of the eye.

Optometristthe health-care professional concerned especially with examining the eye for defects and faults of refraction, with prescribing correctional lenses or eye exercises, with diagnosing diseases of the eye, and with treating such diseases or referring them for treatment to an ophthalmologist.

Opticiana person who reads prescriptions for visual correction, orders lenses, and dispenses eyeglasses and contact lenses. 

Ophthalmic TechnicianTests and measures eye function to assist the ophthalmologist.

Importance of backup glasses:

We never plan for illnesses or accidents to happen; however, each of us can stumble upon an eye injury and/or infection leaving us unable to wear our lenses. Be prepared by always having a current pair of backup glasses on hand.
